WHY does music give us goosebumps?
The vegetative or autonomic nervous system is responsible for controlling bodily functions that are beyond our conscious control. When we experience strong emotions, this system is activated and can cause a physical reaction, such as goosebumps. Listening to music can also stimulate the nervous system and create feelings of excitement, which can cause the muscles in the hair follicles to contract and lead to goosebumps.
