WHY don't ducks get wet or freeze in winter?

 Ducks have a special grease secretion from their coccygeal gland that covers their body and keeps them dry in any weather. They also have a warm fur and subcutaneous fat layer that protects them from the cold. This adaptation allows ducks to remain warm and dry even after extended periods in the water and to fly without difficulty.
